As local as you are, Challenge Matamata strives to provide service, support and excellence to the community wherever possible and, with a recently introduced initiative, has taken this one step further.
The My Challenge Programme is a community-based fundraiser and loyalty programme designed to support local organisations that are important to each participating Challenge retailer’s community. Here in Matamata, Challenge owner/operator, Dave Harris, had no hesitation in jumping on board for Pohlen Hospital.
“The programme is designed so our customers can earn fuel discounts and choose to keep them or donate them” says David. “Our chosen organisation is Pohlen Hospital so even though the discount might seem small, they soon add up when combined with others who choose to donate. Customers can also choose to donate reward points which equates to one point per dollar spent.”
With the recent introduction of My Challenge at service stations around the country, Matamata consumers were the most generous it seems so, as a company, an extra $500 as a one off addition by Challenge, was added to the first donation to Pohlen Foundation, the fundraising arm of Pohlen Hospital.
Over the years Pohlen Hospital has worked steadily towards becoming a one-stop-shop for community healthcare and, whether that’s maternity to aged care, palliative to end of life, or even services from a myriad of visiting specialists, Pohlen Hospital and their tenants aim to ensure the whole community’s health and wellbeing is catered for. Pohlen Foundation was established in 2005 to fundraise for capital expenditure and wish list items, where Pohlen Hospital funds are used directly for operational costs.
“We are delighted Challenge has chosen us as their recipients for donation” says Pohlen Foundation trustee, Louise Trower. “Currently our priority is providing shade sails and outdoor furniture for the enjoyment of our residents and their families so we really appreciate the introduction of the My Challenge initiative and thank those who have already registered.”
